If you like Akshay kumar & what he has been doing in his last one year flicks, here is another broken gem in his wooden crown ,the recent bollywood-hollywood disaster named KAMBAKHT ISHQ.
KAMBAKHT ISHQ was never supposed to have breathtaking story & undoubtedly lives it to its expectations. The film very carelessly kills the bacha khucha Indian tradition & crosses all boundaries of vulgarity & nudity but In mid of all this it has got moments of its own that can make you laugh & titter.
Unfortunately such scenes are classified to 1st half & frantically missed in 2nd half of the movie.

Kareena plays the spectrum of roles in the movie that of a model, doctor, a bad prostitute and a schmaltzy women.But unfortunately with her this avatar for me it’s a spectrum which you better want to lock it in a dark black box & forget the keys.
In terms of other characters the film once again revisits struggle of Aftab Shivdasani who plays a respectable C grade chela plus husband & is paired opposite Amrita Arora who is better known as Malaika’s sister than an actress to me .Javed Jaffery & Bomman Irani’s cameos account for the films some degree of light moments.

Other actors of the film are like Anu Malik’s music that doesn’t deserve any comments as their presence was more like a torture than a performance, even the gifted Kambakht Ishqran Kher falls short of leaving any impact.
At the end the film works for me because of Akshay & Javed jaffery.
I give it 2 stars & one time watch evaluation; don’t go with any expectations as this word is alien to the concept of the film. Watch it for Akshay kumar & mainly for the title song by RDB.

ReplyDeleteI will say the makers of the movie just turned out to be uber-lucky for their movie to have even got the opportunity to be reviewed. For me the movie was utter crap which goes on to prove that Akshay is getting crasser and crasser by the day. It's high time he stopped and read the script rather than looking at the number of zeroes in his cheque and the names of the producers.
ReplyDeleteThere is hardly anything to be written home about this movie. Everything even remotely logical goes for a toss with this movie. Chew on this for instance: 6'4 Brandon Routh's body double is 6 ft tall akshay with his crazy buzz cut whereas Brandon has a luscious flowing mane. Sylvester Stallone who is a superstar even in countries unknown to him is seen loitering on streets alone and the hoodlums on street fail to recognize him. If u start looking at such glaring lapses u'll very well end up running short of numbers to keep count. The makers may turn a blind eye to all this crap saying that it is a comedy and u've to leave ur brain behind. But where the heck is the comedy? I desperately sifted through the movie to grab an opportunity to laugh but all i could do was whimper at my unending capacity to inflict suffering at myself by picking up such listless movies to blow my money on. Boman Irani was wasted just like you or me waste water while bathing. Akshay's monkey acts or Kareena's ample skin show could hardly evoke any interst of any kind.
I will recommend this movie only in the scenario where u r pissed off with life and u've turned into a suicide oriented psychopath.
To give stars to this movie will be a disgrace to the entire practice and i may enrage the stars no end resulting in the launch of a massive bid on my life by the entire solar system.
